If you wonder why Governor Jerry Brown wants to have California secede from the United States of America, all one has to do is look at how state and municipal leaders treat American citizens in comparison to illegal aliens from foreign countries.
This is because nearly the entire state is one large sanctuary city, which relies upon cheap labor for their agricultural industry and in some reported cases, votes to support liberal politicians at the state and local levels.
But now a lawsuit has emerged that should come as a shock to every warm blooded American because in the land that not only welcomes and protects illegal aliens from foreign countries with welfare and drivers licenses, is the same one that shows its disdain for real American citizens by actually imprisoning the homeless ones behind a chain link fence.
The City of Santa Ana has come up with an innovative and despotic way of keeping their homeless population in check — imprison them. The city is now party to a federal lawsuit over unreasonable seizure, false imprisonment, and due process violations.
Heading up the lawsuit on behalf of Michael Diehl, who has lived at the encampment for three years, is the ACLU of Southern California. The lawsuit demands the immediate removal of the 6-foot-tall chain-link fences penning in 75-100 people and their belongings.
“Defendants’ actions have not only illegally restricted the liberty of the homeless people living in the encampment, but it has also cut them off from access to food, water, and medical care thus threatening their health and well-being,” the lawsuit states. – Free Thought Project
There is a solid link between the shutting down of state mental institutions and the skyrocketing increase in homeless people over the past few decades in many urban centers. And while this is partially due to President Ronald Reagan forcing the funding of mental hospitals back onto the states, the reality is that many of these states closed down their institutions for ‘budgetary reasons’ and began to treat the mentally ill as criminals by placing them in prison rather than sending them to places where they could get aid and assistance for their problems.
So perhaps it is this ‘prison’ mindset that found the City of Santa Ana willing to round up their homeless and lock them into fenced enclosures simply because they didn’t have the stomach to deal with their root problems. And hey, when you are spending tens of billions of dollars per year to support millions of illegal aliens, perhaps there is little money left to provide for real Americans who have been left behind in the political agendas of liberal legislators.
